Poster Fish Promotions is delighted to welcome The Long Grazing Acre to Smithfield Fleadh from 4 to 5pm on 25 August following its two week musical journey by horse drawn wagons earlier this summer.
The Long Grazing Acre is a celebration of the enormous contribution Travellers make to traditional Irish music and their route from Boyle, Co. Roscommon through Leitrim and up to the Glenties in Donegal symbolically followed the trails of three well known musical Traveller families the Reillys, the Dorans and the Dohertys.
For this concert, world renowned piper Paddy Keenan will be joined by long time musical collaborator Eamonn de Barra and singer & musician Marty Barry, grandson of acclaimed Traveller singer Margaret Barry. Special guests include other descendants of musical Traveller families; singer and fiddle player Bianca Rohleder, grandniece of the famous Donegal Doherty’s and young singers Tom and Felix Doran, whose great grandfather was a cousin of the famous pipers Felix and Johnny Doran.
This is a free event but space is limited so make sure to arrive on time.
The event runs from 4-5pm in a marquee on Smithfield Square on Sunday 25 August
