New music video sees intergalactic space cadets Dash! ascend from their spaceship and cause chaos on Dublin’s Red Line Luas. Directed by Paul Duane, this high energy, skilfully crafted two minutes of madness will definitely brighten your day.
Dash!’s debut release Luas delivers a perfect slice of pop with an irresistible synth driven groove, catchy beats and big vocals. The accompanying video by Duane, renowned for his work with Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty of the KLF, perfectly captures the band’s high-octane cosmic chaos.
Celebrated director Duane has worked in film and television for over twenty years. Co-creator of the ITV series Secret Diary Of A Call Girl (2007-2011), he went on to direct many films including Barbaric Genius (2011), Very Extremely Dangerous (2012), Nathan (2013) and produced the 2015 IFTA-award-winning documentary In A House That Ceased To Be. In 2024 he released folk horror movie All You Need Is Death staring Olwyn Ferriere and featuring a soundtrack composed by Ian Lynch of Lankum.
Duane spent six years working with Bill Drummond of the KLF on documentary film Best Before Death (2019) which follows Drummond on his 12-Year World Tour. In 2017 the KLF made a comeback, so to speak, after a self-imposed 23 year hiatus. Duane’s What Time Is Death? (2019) charts Jimmy Cauty and Drummond’s latest incarnation as K2 Plant Hire Ltd building The People’s Pyramid.
Dash!’s high-octane live shows, skilful song writing, and catchy lyrics have earned them a growing fan base. The collaboration with Duane encapsulates their distinctive brand of high energy new wave synth pop and catapults it to new heights.
Dash! recently performed live on Raidio na Life and were interviewed on Phoenix FM. Their debut release Luas featured on the Hotpress New Irish Music List and The Thin Air’s Irish Tracks of the Week. Some praise from the press included below:
