Dash! bring a distinctive brand of high energy new wave synth pop. The six-piece ascended to Earth from “Space Place” (-!=⊕Λ) in search of intergalactic fun and frolics, but found only intergalactic sorrow and high rents. They decided to start a band and bring their native cometcore to the world. Their high-octane live shows, skillful song writing, and catchy lyrics have earned them a growing fan base.
Their debut release Luas delivers a perfect slice of pop with an irresistible synth driven groove, catchy beats and big vocals. The accompanying video by director Paul Duane, renowned for his work with Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty of the KLF, perfectly captures the band’s high-octane cosmic chaos.
Formed in 2023, they’ve quickly become regulars on Dublin’s DIY music scene. Often likened to the B52s and X-Ray Spex, they’ve supported The Restarts, T.A Narrative, Trouble Pilgrims, Dread Messiah, The Gakk and The Deadlians and hosted their own monthly gigs throughout 2024 providing a platform for other unsigned bands.
Dash! recently performed live on Raidio na Life and their debut release Luas featured on the Hotpress New Irish Music List and The Thin Air’s Irish Tracks of the Week. Some praise from the press included below:
“Dash! are incredibly effervescent and polished. Their debut track Luas is full of life and energy. I hear a little bit of the B52s, The Human League or Soft Cell in there.” – Rossa Ó’Sioradáin, Raidio na Life
“This song will single-handedly make 2025 a whole lot better” – Paul Duane
“The unrelenting bass and starry production in their new song makes it hard to leave your mind.” – Hotpress
With more tracks ready for release soon, Dash! are ones to watch.
You can download or stream Luas on all on Bandcamp and most other streaming platforms.
