CATAN Junior is aimed at families with children aged 6 to 9 years. Simplified building rules, kid-friendly commerce, and a more harmless thief equivalent called “Ghost Captain” give access to the world of CATAN games. Although CATAN Junior contains simplified rules so that 6-year-olds can participate without any problems, it is still unquestionably a CATAN game. CATAN Junior is not only a game for children, but a real family game that can be enjoyed by adults and young children. CATAN Junior brings families with children from the age of 6 to a completely different place from Catan as we know it. There are no “settlers” here. The thief – known from the base game CATAN – also exists in CATAN Junior, but here he is a scary guy named “Ghost Captain”. The ghost captain is not as bad a guy as the thief in the base game CATAN.
